Course Overview
Your first step in entering the world of flight and the freedom
to travel in the most exciting way possible! If your goal
is to just get away for a weekend or the beginning of a new career,
the Private Pilot license is the first license you will earn which
allows you to carry passengers and share the fun.
The training program we use provides an integrated training approach.
This means that the flight and ground lessons compliment each other.
It’s learning about a skill or procedure and then going out and
using that knowledge in a practical application. For example,
learning the parts of the airplane and their function in a ground
lesson, and then going out to the airplane and performing a preflight
inspection of the items learned in the ground lesson. This
results in a faster and better retention of the knowledge or skill
learned.
The course has 3 Stages of training. Each stage is broken down
into modules, which are designed to make your learning experience
fun, challenging, and rewarding.
The first stage is learning the basics of how to safely prepare
for flight, aircraft systems, basic aerodynamics, airspace and regulations,
etc. All of which lead up to your first solo flight!
The second stage is where you’ll learn how to make specialized
landings and takeoffs from short or soft fields, navigate on a cross-country,
and experience the spectacular views and fun of flying at night.
During the third and final phase of your training you’ll be practicing
all that you have learned under the supervision of your instructor,
and completing solo cross country flights, honing your flight skills,
and preparing for your practical exam with an FAA designated examiner,
who will grant you the Private Pilot License!
We offer the Private Pilot course under either Part 141 or Part
61 Federal Aviation Regulations. Most people who have no flight
experience will be trained under the Part 141 FAA approved training
program which requires 35 hours of ground instruction and 35 hours
of flight instruction. If you have your own Airplane or have prior
training but have not completed your license then a Part 61 course
may be the most cost effective. Your individual circumstances must
be evaluated to determine which is the best way to train.
Note: Variation in flight time cost is dependent upon which aircraft
is used. See Our Fleet for more details.
Ground School is an essential part of your flight training program.
With our Cessna training system, you can work at your own pace,
lesson-by-lesson, step by step with each phase of your flight training.
